Not Easy Being Green

Man, I realized as I was typing up this post that the majority of this outfit came from Forever 21 (all purchased on different trips, too).

When I pulled this sweater out of my closet, I was feeling green. The green stripes just weren’t enough green, so I thought about pairing it with a green skirt I have. Then I saw the mint jeans that I love. Of course, I ended up choosing them.

These Missoni for Target flats have really come in handy with their plethora of colors. If I had been thinking about it though, I would have switched them out for my green leprechaun shoes.

Originally, it was just the sweater and the skirt but it didn’t look finished to me. So I threw this knit thing over, and I felt like it looked a little better.  I was also lazy, and didn’t feel much like jewelry.

Also, I’m really loving the sunshine that Washington State is getting lately! It’s been wonderful outside.

These are one of my all time favorite pairs of shoes. The pink bows always lift my mood.

Also it was completely unintentional, but i love that I matched my nail polish to my outfits. Essie’s Chincilly is my new favorite nail color.

Sweater Weather

I bought this sweater when I went out with my sister. As a delightful bonus, it was on sale. I really love when stores get spring clothing in and discount all the cozy winter wear when the weather is still telling everyone in Washington that it is winter. I’m getting items I can wear 9 months out of the year on sale!

I ended up celebrating the end of my diet by going out for crepes in this cozy ensemble. I could only eat half of the crepe, but it was more the principle of the thing than anything else. And, it was a very delicious crepe.

I’m still keeping pretty close to the diet and exercise plan, mostly because I’ve been doing it for a month now and I actually look forward to my workouts and I don’t really mind avoiding processed foods.

Target Grey

When I went to review the Jason Wu for Target collection I tried on these jeans too. I loved them, but really couldn’t afford to buy anything at that point so I told myself I would come back later. Well, on Friday, I headed to Target and picked them up! (I planned on snagging the miniskirt I loved last time, too but it was out of stock. I was so upset!) Lucky that I went then, since they were the last pair in my size.

I wanted to do a grey monotone, but I feel like it would have worked better if my grey boots were ankle boots instead of mid calf boots.

Neon Imitation

Freckles in April Today was N is for Neutrals and Neons, and The Winter Edition is have a Group Open to Interpretation. To fit into both of the challenges, I chose to interpret the shape of the outfit we were coping–keeping all the basic parts but not the colors. I made my outfit mostly neutral, with pops of pink. Then I added the neon pink belt because I need to define my waist most of the time or I look like I gigantic block.

Also, it is incredibly difficult to get a sweater over a button-up. Seriously. How do people manage it?

Sadly my normal picture taking spot was half in sunlight and half out, so I moved my photo taking place a couple feet to the left. The background isn’t nearly as pretty today.

Tidings of Comfort and Joy

You know those people who are always really excited to wear new clothing? So excited that they immediately change when they get home so they can wear said new clothing? Yeah. That’s me.

Because once I made it home from Black Friday, I fell asleep for a total of three hours and then woke up and pulled out this cozy sweater I had bought less than twelve hours ago.

Of course, my family was decorating for Christmas when I woke up. I (as is tradition) hung the wreath and a bunch of Christmas lights outside. I’ll be posting pictures of the decorations soon…

Just Like Jam and Bread

I’ll be honest. Black Friday was not nearly as fruitful this year as it was last year. Last year’s deals were a lot better. I hardly got any of my Christmas shopping done, when I should usually be completely finished now. I ended up really disappointed and only purchased a several items. I’m actually planning a breakdown of my Black Friday purchases in a later post.

This sweater and scarf were two items I purchased. I seriously love this sweater, and it was exactly what I’ve been hunting for these past several months. I chose to size up so it would be more ‘comfy knit’ and less ‘tight long-sleeve top’. The net scarf was also too cute to pass up.

New boots! I had a couple gift cards to Macy’s so I decided to splurge on some much-needed knee high boots. These were perfect and oh-so-comfy. I’ve been wearing them constantly since they arrived on Wednesday.

After discovering the sad amount of sweaters I own (I total of none), I realized that they really are a necessary part of a wardrobe. Somehow I’ve managed to live without them, which I plan to rectify very quickly. So here’s why you (and I) should add sweaters to our wardrobe.
