If you’re at all like me, then I’m betting you have better things to spend your money on then coffee. As much as I love Starbucks’ wide array of products, it isn’t really an affordable habit to have. In addition to that, most items are either to difficult to make at home or I would have no idea how to go about the whole process. My best friend showed me this trick to get a really easy mocha and I thought I’d share it.
Under the cut, I’ll provide you with a simple 5 minute (tops) mocha. Perfect if you’re cheap (like me) and on the go (not so much like me)…
Obviously the first thing you’ll need is a cup to hold the coffee. I recommend one on the larger side (like this one):
Assuming you have a coffee maker/french press just pour the black (as my heart) coffee into the cup. I fill mine up to the half-way mark, but if you like it stronger you could add more. It is best if the coffee is really hot, since the next step cools it down.
Now for the “secret” ingredient…
Add a spoonful (or two, or less–whatever you like!) of some powdered hot cocoa mix. Just stir it in (it might take a bit of effort there, it doesn’t always like to dissolve), and voila! Instant mocha!
So it’s simple and cheap! It’s also probably less calorific than a normal mocha, not that I’ve checked. I’ve had one for the past couple days, and when you’re only 1/2 awake trust me when I say that less steps there are in the process, the better.
